New Students

Welcome to St. Teresa Catholic Elementary School, a vibrant and growing school of 300 students and 30 staff members, located in the old west end of Peterborough.

At St. Teresa's we promote academic excellence in a community of faith where the needs of the students are met in a safe and caring Catholic environment. We are a partnership where home, school, community and Church come together to nurture and teach our children to become caring, responsible, lifelong learners.

We are so happy that you have decided to join our school community. We look forward to you getting involved in our programs and events. Our school offers many extracurricular sports, arts activities and clubs to make your time here fun and memorable.

Our dedicated school staff works extremely hard to provide challenging and meaningful experiences for our students. We encourage our students to develop their unique and special God-given talents. Our staff is here for assistance and will ensure that your child's transition to St. Teresa's is as smooth as possible.

Before classes begin, your child will be introduced to his/her teacher, the Principal and office staff. Your child will know the schedule for the day including times for recess and lunch, and where his/her desk is located.

During the first few weeks of school, we will make sure that your child has another student that he/she can rely on to ask questions and to show him/her around the school. You can also visit the School Life section of our website to learn more about St. Teresa's including our staff, attendance procedures, bell times, transportation information and recent newsletters.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask your child's teacher or the Principal for help. We want your child to have a pleasurable and memorable school learning experience, and we'll offer our support to make this happen.
